The PRIME study (Protective Vaccine Responses in Infants after Maternal Pertussis Vaccination)
In Australia whooping cough (pertussis) vaccination is currently recommended during every pregnancy, as it is a safe and effective way of protecting young babies from severe disease.
The doctors at the Vaccine Trials Group, The Kids Research Institute Australia, are currently conducting a study to evaluate if whooping cough vaccination during pregnancy affects the baby’s immune response to their future infant and toddler vaccinations. The study will also assess how long mum’s immunity lasts after vaccination in pregnancy. During the study your child will be provided with all of their routine infant and toddler vaccinations.
This study is currently not recruiting.
